From the Principal
Congratulations to the 273 new members of Pymble Alumni. This newsletter will land in your inbox while Year 12 finish their final HSC examinations as newly minted, lifetime members of the association formerly known as the Pymble Ladies’ College Ex-Students’ Union.
It was such a pleasure to welcome outgoing ESU President, Rowena Ditzell and incoming Pymble Alumni President, Amy Graham, at the last assembly of the year attended by our Class of 2026. Rowena and Amy spoke about the “automatic connection” between Pymble Alumni across all leaving years and encouraged students to lean into this lifetime network and support as they embark on their lives beyond our gates. We are incredibly proud of our Class of 2026 and send them out into the world with joy and anticipation for what comes next. Special congratulations to the major prize winners of this cohort announced at our Term 3 Year 12 Speech Day:
- Dux of the School: Katherine Pan
- The School Prize: Soraya Catchpole and Kiki Chen
- The Marden Prize: Sasha Chan

Thank you for starring in our 110-year celebrations 2026 was the year of you, our Pymble Alumni. We wrote a book about you. We shared many of your inspiring stories with our community. We decked our campus with visible reminders of your contributions to the world.
And we celebrated our 110th anniversary with a concert at the Sydney Opera House, starring you. Thank you to those who contributed your unique gifts and talents to Odyssey: The Journey Illuminated. Take a bow… Vocal soloist, Latiah McMillian (2025) mesmerized us in Walk Together, by renowned First Nations artist Ziggy Ramo. This was a bespoke piece commissioned exclusively for the concert, thanks to Pymble Alumni, and one of four world premiere performances on the night.

Melissa Tay (2020) and Tiana Zarafetas (2021) were among a team of choreographers who created the visual feast that was The Pathway.

Miranda Middleton (2013) wrote a new play for the occasion, Dreams of Tomorrow, featuring Sophie Smith (2021) as an ensemble member representing one of the stories from our alumni book, Celebrating 110 Years.
The book features stories and reflections of 44 Pymble Alumni from who have made significant contributions to the world across a range of industries, careers and humanitarian work, and we plan to add to these stories each year. To nominate someone for inclusion in 2027, please contact our Alumni Relations Manager, Mrs Katrina Corcoran (Hum, 1987).

Alexandra De Santi (2018) and Denise Wang (2023) showcased their incredible talent for choreography in Transcendence.

Hannah Gwatkin (2012) choreographed a fabulously jazzed-up version of You’re The Voice, featuring:
- Vocalists Hannah Gwatkin (2012), Amelie Matthews (2024), Tara Narayan (2021), Claire Oslington (2023) and Gabriella Viglione (2011).
- Dance ensemble members Savanthi Fernando (2009), Sage Kukui (2021), Sarah McGeoch (2014), Jessica Stuart (2017) and Tiana Zarafetas (2021).

And vocal soloists Annaliese Hall (2018), Catty Hamilton (2007) and Annabelle Rosewarne (2015) reached the unreachable stars in The Impossible Dream.

We also had many alumni join our stars on stage as community choir members including Lucy Bell (2023), Amanda (Mandy) Ferreira (Clare, 1996), Amelie Matthews (2023), Carisa Mehra (2018), Madeleine Morris (2020), Amelie Muir (2023), Claire Oslington (2023) and Angeline Sum (2023). In a lovely echo from our 100th anniversary concert in 2016, Melissa Doyle (1987) contributed to the evening with an emcee introduction and reflections on her time as a Pymble girl.

A huge thank you to all who took part in some way and those who came along to share our milestone celebration. Odyssey: The Journey Illuminated will be remembered as an unforgettable showcase of the phenomenal talents of our students and staff, past and present, and the very special gift that is our community.
